My First Night!

Ok, after we settled in last night and walked down our street around the neighborhood, we came back to Emma's flat for dinner at 9pm. This is there dinner hour here, seemed late but whatever. For dinner, Emma made "Torterilla de Patata" and "Ensalade de Tomate y Cebolla". It was fantastic, the portion was smaller, but I ate it all. The "torterilla de patata" reminded me of a quiche with potatoes. It was delicious.

After dinner, Monica, the Norwegian foreign exchange student, and I walked to a local pub for a drink. Everyone in this neighborhood seems to come to life after 9pm. The streets were filled with people. Everyone was included. It wasn't your typical night crew. We saw children, moms pushing strollers and elderly people walking the streets. The pub was rather interesting since we couldn't really order our drinks. I understand Spanish, however, I believe the bartender was a gypsy. At least, that's what Monica and I concluded from the music. We stayed for one drink then headed back home.

Once we got back, we got ready for bed. I was feeling tired by then. I had to use ear plugs, because all of the windows were open since it was a hot night. Emma doesn't have AC, but that's common. Anyways, open windows makes for a very noisy night considering this neighborhood stays up rather late. I believe it got quiet around 4am.

I woke up around 8:30am and took a shower. Now it is 10am, we are going to eat breakfast. Yum!!

Talk to you guys later, by the way as of right now, I'm not feeling jet lagged. I'm glad my flight was overnight. I woke up and I'm on their schedule. Although, it's a pretty late night. I'm not use to that. I will probably adjust though. :)

Today, I'm going to the Muesum, so I should have pictures later.

  3. I've finally posted some pics! But I may not post many because the internet is rather slow or my pics are too large, not sure which of the two is the problem. It's probably a combination of the two.
